About The Position

The Patient Transporter at Toledo Hospital is responsible for assisting patients with movement throughout the hospital. This involves helping to lift, turn, and move patients onto appropriate transport equipment. The role also requires ensuring the safety of transport equipment and promptly reporting any defects. When not actively transporting patients, the individual will clean equipment, change lines as needed, and communicate any delays or concerns regarding transport to dispatch.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma/GED
• Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries
• Requires effective interpersonal skills
• Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer
• Must have and maintain CPR certification

• Previous patient care experience

Responsibilities

• Help lift, turn, and move patients to the proper transport equipment
• Ensure transport equipment is safe for the patients
• Report any defects quickly
• Clean the equipment when not transporting patients
• Change lines as needed
• Communicate delays or concerns regarding transport to dispatch
