This role is for a Patient Transporter at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, within the Patient Transportation Department/Specialty, with a rotating PRN schedule.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Navigate patient journeys throughout the facility, ensuring safe and timely arrivals for critical procedures, tests, and discharges.
Manage the seamless movement of specialized medical equipment, including oxygen tanks and monitors, to maintain patient stability during transit.
Coordinate the delivery of time-sensitive specimens to clinical teams, directly impacting the speed of diagnosis and treatment.
Serve as a primary ambassador for the facility by providing clear directions and a comforting presence to patients and families during stressful moments.
Support clinical units with the dignified and respectful transport of deceased patients, upholding the hospital's commitment to compassionate care at every stage.
