Requirements

  • Every other weekend and all holidays.
  • Varied shifts.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Transportation of inpatients and outpatients to Radiology Department.
  • Ensures the safe transport of patients and equipment to and from all patient care areas via stretcher, wheelchair, or ambulatory process.
  • Transports patients, on a daily basis, to and from various departments, informing nursing staff of the transport and return, with 100% accuracy of observing safely standards.
  • Railing are in upright position.
  • Intravenous needle remains in place.
  • Monitors supply flow or oxygen as established by the attending nurse.
  • Secures patient to transport.
  • Communicates clearly and tactfully with patients.
  • Receives assignments from electronic system, such as hospital-issued phone, and reports completed assignments.
  • Also receives assignments as needed technical/clinical personnel involved with patient care.
  • Upon lifting the patients, with assistance if needed, moves them to wheelchair/stretcher and transport the patient to the assigned examination room.
  • Travels to different patient care areas to obtain stretcher/wheelchair for use if unavailable on the floor for scheduled patient pickup.
  • Brings all unused stretcher and wheelchairs to a centralized storage location.
  • Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for department and Hospital.
