About The Position

Saint Luke’s Hospital at the Plaza is seeking a Patient Transporter to join their team. This role involves moving patients by wheelchair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons, utilizing manual or computerized job assignments. The position requires an alternating schedule of 40 hours per week, with permanent 12 PM shift starts and mandatory weekend work. Key responsibilities include utilizing infection prevention and patient transfer techniques, knowing appropriate routes for safe and efficient patient movement, and maintaining good communication with nursing clinical staff. The Patient Transporter is also responsible for recognizing when to ask for help, protecting the integrity of patient tubes, lines, and collection devices, and moving patient valuables and equipment. Less than 1 year of applicable experience

Responsibilities

Move patients by wheel chair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons

Communicate effectively with the nursing clinical staff
Recognize when they need to ask for help or continued guidance
