This position provides safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies within the hospital. The role involves performing transport duties as needed, assisting in training new hires, and communicating with other departments to assess their transport needs. The Patient Transporter is required to interact with patients and customers to ensure their needs are met and must be oriented to the physical layout of the hospital and locations of patient testing areas. Responsibilities also include performing data entry, receiving dispatch information via the Tele-Tracking System, and using proper body mechanics for lifting and moving patients. The individual must understand and use the Patient Identification and Alert Process and pass fit testing for an N95 mask. Additional duties include performing other assigned tasks, complying with all policies and standards, and abiding by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients, including annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.
