Under the direction of the Transport Supervisor or the Director of Transport Services, the Patient Transporter performs a variety of duties, including transporting patients, medical equipment, and specimens to and from areas within the hospital in a timely, safe, and comfortable manner. The role involves greeting patients, families, visitors, and staff courteously, verifying patient identification, and ensuring proper hand-off to caregivers. Responsibilities also include managing medical supplies and equipment, such as receiving, storing, delivering, cleaning, and coordinating repairs for various items. The transporter is expected to maintain detailed logs of all transports, respond to communication devices promptly, and adhere to hospital infection control and safety procedures. This position requires a customer service focus and professional conduct, contributing to the hospital's mission of providing exceptional and equitable care.
