About The Position

Job Summary: The Patient Transporter is responsible for the transportation of patients and patient related items throughout the Medical Center and surrounding facilities. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Minimum of one year experience preferred. Relevant experience accepted in lieu of education. Must successfully complete training by the end of the introductory period.

Requirements

• Able to speak clearly to gather/dispense information
• use push/pull gurneys or wheelchairs or beds
• use good hand and eye coordination
• maintain finger dexterity to hold charts, etc.
• Able to read, write legibly
• speak in English with professional quality
• use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position
• Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
• work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure

• Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year experience preferred
• Relevant experience accepted in lieu of education
• Must successfully complete training by the end of the introductory period.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred.
