About The Position

As a Patient Transporter with Sentara, you will s afely escort and transport patients within all areas of the hospital using safe body mechanics. The Patient Transporter strictly adheres to all safety rules and initiatives of Sentara. You will be responsible for communicating clearly with all staff, visitors, and patients. Requirements

• HS - High School Grad or Equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Other/National w/in 90 days of hire
• Previous patient care experience required

Responsibilities

• Safely escort and transport patients within all areas of the hospital using safe body mechanics.
• Adhere to all safety rules and initiatives of Sentara.
• Communicate clearly with all staff, visitors, and patients.
• Ensure adequate communication of information between Central Transport and other departments.
