About The Position

The Patient Transporter provides transport services between various nursing departments in the medical center in a safe, efficient customer service oriented manner. Assures that transports are done in accordance with both the department and hospital policies and procedures, with the priority of providing support for a safe environment. Transport duties include but are not limited to patients, equipment, and supplies. Provides assistance with patient transfers, as part of the patient care team. Under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse, performs nursing care activities, while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient requiring clinical observation.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous transport, patient care, patient observation or customer service delivery experience preferred.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with policy required.
• Customer service skills and a caring bedside manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide transport services between nursing departments in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure transports are conducted in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Transport patients, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Assist with patient transfers as part of the patient care team.
• Perform nursing care activities under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse.
