About The Position

A Patient Transporter transports patients and patient associated items as requested throughout hospital stay or to departure lounge and to vehicle for discharge to ensure customer service and throughput needs are met. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

• High School Graduate, GED, or general education requirements for the country that education was obtained.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and interdependently.
• Ability to set priorities and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients using EMR/tracking software system.
• Safely and courteously transport patients to various areas as requested.
• Verify patient name, date of birth, room number, and destination.
• Document transport details and notify responsible party upon arrival.
• Report any medical problems and keep all patient information confidential.
• Maintain and disinfect departmental equipment such as stretchers, wheelchairs, and beds.
• Follow safety procedures and precautions to ensure safety for themselves and patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the department.
