About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Patient Transporter to safely move patients throughout the hospital while ensuring their comfort and well-being. Responsibilities include assisting patients in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers, coordinating with staff and families, and maintaining accurate transport records. The ideal candidate follows safety and infection control protocols, communicates effectively, and remains calm and responsive in emergency situations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months experience of patient transporting, preferably in hospital setting
  • Must have CNA or MA experience
  • Must have patient transporter experience
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work rotational weekends and holidays
  • Current CPR Card issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers.
  • Must have Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
  • Current Annual Health Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (spanish) preferred, not required
  • Proof of Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients within the hospital, ensuring comfort and addressing their needs.
  • Help patients in and out of beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during transport.
  • Follow safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques.
  • Coordinate with patients, families, and healthcare staff regarding transport needs.
  • Maintain accurate transport records.
  • Ensure transport equipment is clean and functional.
  • Be ready to act in emergencies and provide first aid if needed.
  • Follow hospital policies, including infection control and confidentiality.
  • Work with healthcare professionals for timely and efficient patient transport.
  • Ensure compliance with CA DPH regulations and maintain licensures.
