About The Position

The position involves transporting patients to and from various points of service, including admissions, discharges, and ancillary service areas. The role also includes performing varied patient and equipment handling duties, ensuring that patients are moved safely and efficiently throughout the healthcare facility.

Requirements

• High school graduate or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable job knowledge can be acquired.
• Training in all assigned competencies such as patient oxygen equipment and monitoring of levels and amounts, patient lifting and transfers, and infection control policies.
• Ability to follow oxygen transport policy and procedures, including attaching and monitoring oxygen tank levels during transport.
• Ability to frequently work in a standing position and perform large amounts of walking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform stooping, bending, and twisting while handling weights.
• Ability to use repetitive motions such as grasping, fine manipulating, and forearm/wrist rotation.
• Ability to perform basic patient lifting through in-service for proper technique.
