About The Position

The Patient Transporter is responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of pediatric patients of all ages, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations enabling physicians, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare team members to perform their duties in an effective manner. Ensures positive patient/family, healthcare team customer satisfaction, proper utilization of body mechanics, adherence to policies, procedures and standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent verbal and listening skills.
• Ability to provide care with sensitivity and respect.
• Ability to develop and promote positive customer service relations.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in general computer usage.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience with lift devices and safe transfer.
• One year of healthcare experience in an acute care hospital.
• Experience transporting pediatric patients in a hospital setting.
• Post High School education in health care related course.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Emergency Medical Tech certification.
