About The Position

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Patient Transporter at Overlook Medical Center. Required hours vary including every other weekend. Starting rate $20.22/hr. This position is eligible for the Atlantic Health System #teenhiring initiative.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 16 or older (prior to hire, must complete NJA300 Combined Certification Form/Working Papers).
• If 16 or 17 years-old valid working papers required.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ascertains patient name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written or verbal instructions.
• Guides or escorts incoming patients from admitting office or reception desk to designated area.
• Carries patient's luggage.
• Assists patient in walking to prevent accidents by falling, or transports non-ambulatory patient, using wheelchair.
• Transports patient, alone or with assistance, in bed, wheeled cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within facility during patient stay.
• Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
