About The Position

The Patient Transporter is responsible for transporting patients to and from various units and departments within the hospital, ensuring quality care while en route. This role requires compliance with Prisma Health's values of inspiring health, serving with compassion, and making a difference. The transporter will document patient transportation assignments, aiming to transport three patients per hour, and will fill out all necessary documentation including admitting logs and trip tickets. The position involves transporting patients using various methods such as wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds, while also managing any attached medical apparatus. The transporter will attend in-service education and departmental meetings, report any accidents or complaints, assist in equipment maintenance, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent or post high school diploma/highest degree earned.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Receives and documents patient transportation assignments.
• Sets a goal to transport three patients per hour.
• Fills out all appropriate documentation including admitting logs and trip tickets.
• Transports patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and other means.
• Attends in-service education and departmental staff meetings.
• Reports accidents, unusual occurrences, and complaints.
• Assists in maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Conforms to all policy, procedure, and rules of behavior.
