A Patient Mobility Aide provides safe patient transfer assistance and mobility, in accordance with the Progressive Mobility Protocol, with direction from nursing and rehab staff. Located in Derry, NH, Parkland Medical Center is a regional acute-care hospital offering 86 beds and a Level III Trauma Center. Requirements

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
High School Graduate / GED required.

Nice To Haves

Healthcare experiece preferred.

Responsibilities

Understands and demonstrates appropriate use of lifting equipment and assistive devices for patient mobility.
Understands levels of assistance, weight bearing status.
Demonstrates safe and appropriate body mechanics when assisting patients.
Provides safe mobility following the Progressive Mobility Protocol.
Receives assignment from nursing staff and or rehab staff daily at the start of his/her shift
Communicates with nurse prior to mobilizing patient.
Documents in the EMR under "mobility aide" time, activity, under the direction of the nurse caring for the patient.
Communicates completion of activity and any concerns noted
Enlists assistance of staff as needed
Responds to calls for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
