About The Position

We are hiring immediately for a full time PATIENT TRANSPORTER LEAD position. Location: Miami Valley South - 2400 Miami Valley Drive, Centerville, OH 45459. Note: online applications accepted only. Schedule: Full time schedule. Monday through Friday, hours may vary. Further details upon interview. Requirement: Previous experience is preferred, but not required. Willing to train! Requirements

  • Previous experience is preferred, but not required. Willing to train!

Responsibilities

  • Directs daily work of other patient transporters and reports inadequate performance to Supervisor.
  • Trains new and existing employees; updates personnel files. Follows up on complaints and reports them to the Supervisor.
  • Evaluates work requirements and assignments; ensures efficient use of employees and distribution of work load.
  • Demonstrates competency in transporting all specific age-groups.
  • Ensures the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to their destination; brings the proper requested equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, or reception and dispatch.
  • Ensures patient comfort by being attentive; offers blankets, checks modesty and only engages in appropriate conversation involving patients. Never transports patients in severe pain.
  • Immediately alerts nursing staff to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
  • Maintains equipment and reports equipment needing repairs.
  • Complies with regulator agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO.
  • Adheres to facility confidentiality and patients rights policy as outlined in the facility's HIPPA policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
