About The Position

BHC Alhambra Hospital, a 115-bed facility established in 1924 in Rosemead, California, is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital. It serves children, adolescents, and adults, providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment through inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient options. The Patient Transportation Specialist is responsible for transporting patients to and from the facility, ensuring friendly, respectful interaction, and role modeling positive socialization while maintaining safety. This position emphasizes providing excellent customer service to patients and referral sources and representing the facility and its programs to the community. No prior experience is necessary as comprehensive training is provided. This is a Weekend Per Diem position, requiring work on Saturdays and availability to cover shifts as needed. Requirements

Education: High school graduate, or equivalent.
Licensure: Possesses and maintains a valid Class B drivers license.
Must be 21 years or older and have a good driving record as obtained from the Department of Public Safety.
Desire and ability to interact positively with others including patients and referral sources and be a role model is required.

Responsibilities

Provide encouragement and support to patients in order to help patients meet their outpatient treatment plan goals and objectives.
Provide a positive experience for patients at all times
Provide a transportation experience which treats all patients with respect and dignity at all times and is encouraging and supportive of the patient.
Greet each patient(s) at the van door and opens the van door for each patient assisting the patient into and out of the van as indicated.
