Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, and the Adult population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient (IOP) programs as well. Wellstone is currently looking to fill a full-time Facility Van Driver/Food Service Worker position. The program Transportation Tech/Food Service Worker transports patients, does basic preventive maintenance of vehicles, and has a basic understanding of CPI principles and trauma informed care for patients. The staff will split responsibilities between transporting IOP patients and assisting with preparing the salad bar when needed, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room always remain clean, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, assisting the cook as required and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required. Time is split equally between the two departments. This is a non-exempt hourly position.

  • Transport patients to and from appointments.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance of vehicles.
  • Understand and apply CPI principles and trauma informed care.
  • Assist with preparing the salad bar.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of beverages.
  • Ensure the cafeteria and dining room remain clean.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies.

  • High school graduate or equivalent; two years of technical or trade school preferred but not required.
  • Experience in operating a variety of vehicles.
  • Understanding of Indiana/Kentucky state driving laws and regulations.
  • Ability to read or follow driving directions.
  • Experience with driving 12-passenger vans.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Completion of CPR/CPI certification and internal driving test.
  • Pass extensive background check including drug test.
