About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and professional Patient Transport Van Driver to transport behavioral health patients safely and efficiently on a PRN (as-needed) schedule. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, strong customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all passengers. This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care by ensuring reliable transportation within our DFW community. Work hours: This is a PRN (as needed) schedule. Must be able to work a flexible/split schedule for early morning routes and late afternoon transports

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One (1) year experience working with mental health populations of all ages preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • Clean Driving Record (Verifiable)
  • One (1) year experience driving passenger van preferred (up to 15 passengers)
  • Basic mechanical knowledge preferred
  • Ability to pass initial and periodic drug screening
  • Ability to pass Background check
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices.
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks associated with transporting patients.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to safety standards in previous driving roles.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate shuttle van to transport patients between facilities, appointments, and community locations.
  • Assist patients with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support while ensuring their safety throughout transit.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to maintain a secure transportation environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle condition in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and other stakeholders to coordinate schedules and address any transportation needs or concerns.
  • Handle heavy lifting when assisting patients with mobility devices or luggage as required.
