About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and professional Patient Transport Van Driver to transport behavioral health patients safely and efficiently on a PRN (as-needed) schedule. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, strong customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all passengers. This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care by ensuring reliable transportation within our DFW community. Work hours: This is a PRN (as needed) schedule. Must be able to work a flexible/split schedule for early morning routes and late afternoon transports

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
One (1) year experience working with mental health populations of all ages preferred.
Valid Texas Driver License
Clean Driving Record (Verifiable)
One (1) year experience driving passenger van preferred (up to 15 passengers)
Basic mechanical knowledge preferred
Ability to pass initial and periodic drug screening
Ability to pass Background check
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices.
Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks associated with transporting patients.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to safety standards in previous driving roles.

Responsibilities

Safely operate shuttle van to transport patients between facilities, appointments, and community locations.
Assist patients with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support while ensuring their safety throughout transit.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to maintain a secure transportation environment.
Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle condition in accordance with organizational standards.
Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and other stakeholders to coordinate schedules and address any transportation needs or concerns.
Handle heavy lifting when assisting patients with mobility devices or luggage as required.
