JOB OVERVIEW: Operates and maintains hospital transport van and associated equipment (e.g., vans, passenger lifts, etc.), transports patients that are discharged to their destinations (home, skilled nursing facility, rehab facility, etc.). Performs inspections, documents discrepancies, and records driver logs noting passenger counts and gas usage. Communicates to passengers the location of different service lines and/or procedures to ensure safe and carefree transportation. Completes all UHS training and refreshers, adheres to safety procedures and vehicle maintenance/operation standards, and reports all corporate vehicle accidents consistent with the UHS Corporate and Facility Fleet (Auto) Safety Policy Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities: Greets passengers (patients, visitors, and guests) and safely transports them from various designated areas to/from the Hospital and Medical Office Building to discharge destinations (home, skilled nursing facility, rehab facility, etc.). Provides information to riders, transports them to the correct location, and maintains log of pickups and deliveries along with gas usage and timekeeping. Informs and relays all necessary information in a clear and concise manner whether in-person or via radio. Follow all traffic signs/laws and maintain posted speed limits. Maintains safety standards at all times when transporting passengers and ensures the vehicle meets all safety requirements and is up to date with the maintenance schedule. Provides exceptional service and safety at all times and ensures the vehicle is cleaned, maintained, and meets all MMH standards and brand representation. Demonstrates service excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned that are reasonably within scop of those enumerated above.
