About The Position
As a Patient Transport Technician at UCLA Health Systems, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients throughout the Ronald Reagan Medical Center. Your primary responsibilities will include positioning, transferring, and transporting patients to and from various departments or locations using wheelchairs, beds, or gurneys. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and safety, as you will be responsible for maintaining a professional demeanor while interacting with patients and their families. You will also be tasked with performing teaching and training duties, dispatching, and handling limited clerical responsibilities related to the transport function. In addition to patient transport, you will be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning or disinfection of transport equipment. You will also be required to deliver and pick up specimens, blood, medical equipment, medical records, medications, and various other items as needed. A critical aspect of this role includes the respectful transport of deceased patients to the morgue, ensuring that all procedures are followed with dignity and care. The position offers a salary range of $21.12 to $27.85 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role within the healthcare team.
