Patient Transport Technician Day shift start times range from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Weekend availability is required. Position Summary The Patient Transport Technician plays a key role in supporting safe, efficient patient movement throughout the Medical Center. Under the direction of a transportation supervisor or manager, this position is responsible for transporting patients and patient care equipment across various departments in a 24/7 operation. This includes assisting patients who require moderate to total support with lifting, turning, transferring, and repositioning using wheelchairs, beds, gurneys, ambulettes, and approved lift equipment. Additional responsibilities may include limited clerical tasks, equipment cleaning and disinfection, specimen and supply transport, and assisting with decedent affairs. Shifts may vary, and weekend coverage is required.
