About The Position

Aramark Healthcare+ is seeking candidates for a System Patient Transport Director in Sommerville, New Jersey. As the Patient Transportation Director, you will provide leadership, direction and support for the patient transportation teams to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to the transportation of patients within the hospitals. Making regular visits to all departments and nursing units to ensure the transportation team is performing to protocol, addressing concerns promptly, scheduling and making job assignments when and where necessary, as well as, maintaining a clean and safe environment are some of the main responsibilities of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Healthcare Patient Transport management experience required
  • Knowledge of patient transportation and metrics tracked
  • Must have the ability to manage in a diverse environment, under a variety of conditions and constraints with complete focus on client and customer services.
  • Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and prioritizing skills to meet critical deadlines on tasks, commitments, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff and demonstrated competence in management areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Assures the Patient Transport phones and radios are used and answered professionally and that requests are handled in a courteous, timely and professional manner.
  • Oversees daily operations of Patient Transport and Dispatch function as well as manages all internal and external transportation for the hospital.
  • Schedules, coordinates movement and provides direction for all phases of Customer Service Center Associates, Dispatchers, Transporters, Managers and Supervisors as required to meet service demands
  • Assures all of the Central Transportation staff and team members are trained and knowledgeable in technical and customer service areas.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures for areas of responsibility, as well as develops standards of accountability and appropriate associate competency and performance evaluation tools.
  • Effectively manages and provides the following service area activities: human resources (hiring, orienting, training, performance evaluation), coaching, counseling, and discipline; as well as departmental safety and risk management.
  • Maintains effective interdepartmental, intradepartmental, and other external relationships and communications to foster a service attitude and to cooperatively provide the highest quality service.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned as work is expected to vary with changing needs and priorities.
