About The Position

Primary Responsibilities: Transports patients to their inpatient beds and/or to other areas such as surgery, therapy, or radiology in a safe and timely manner. Maintains and cleans equipment. Complies with established PPE requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances. Abides by all Infection Control Policies i.e. Hand Hygiene, Equipment Decontamination. Job Description Essential Functions: Transport of patient: includes lifting and moving patient, movement to designation with appropriate equipment. Monitor patient's status enroute and respond to changes in patient condition. Decontaminates equipment after each transport in compliance with the Equipment Contamination Policy Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required
