In this role, the successful candidate transports patients, supplies, and laboratory items in a safe efficient manner throughout the facility. Provide patient comfort, handle all patients in a calm and reassuring manner, and will assist with all transfers to and from bedside according to correct mode of transportation. Assists in the delivery of mail as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• 1 - 2 years Transport or related experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, supplies, and laboratory items throughout the facility.
• Provides patient comfort and handles all patients in a calm and reassuring manner.
• Assists with all transfers to and from bedside according to correct mode of transportation.
• Logs in and out in a timely manner utilizing the schedule for shift assignment, breaks, and lunches.
• Ensures response and completion times of all transports fall within established guidelines.
• Reports transport delays/cancellations to the receiving department and properly codes through the Transport Tracking system.
• Establishes patient identification in conjunction with the Ticket to Ride procedure before transport is initiated.
• Manages all transport equipment.
• Cleans/sanitizes transport equipment after use.
• Returns all transport equipment to the proper storage area when not in use.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
