The Patient Transport Aide transfers patients throughout areas of service at Geneva General Hospital. Patients are transported in wheelchairs, and stretchers. This is a very important position, because it collaborates with every unit, to ensure patients are able to receive the best care possible.

  • Provides safe transportation for patients using various modes, such as wheelchairs, and stretchers.
  • Assists nursing personnel with transporting medically complex patients to ensure safe and continuous monitoring.
  • Transports patients utilizing infection prevention practices as appropriate.
  • Responds to calls in a timely manner.
  • Promptly communicates any delays to appropriate area.
  • Utilizes established communication tools such as the Ticket to Ride.
  • Performs non-routine work assignments as assigned by Nurse Manager or Clinical Leader.
  • Assists customer in locating various departments.
  • Displays a warm and welcoming demeanor to patients and families.
  • Prioritizes requests and communicates expected response times.
  • Plans work and routes taken in order to maximize efficiency.
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Customer Service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support training and certification.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
