About The Position

Glens Falls Hospital is looking to help you jumpstart your next great career as a patient transporter for the hospital! The patient transport team is seeking energetic and motivated individuals like you who are comfortable pushing wheelchairs, escorting patients, and helping them board the appropriate medical transport vehicles! Serving as the point of contact for patient escort, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient satisfaction and quality care. Team Impact In this role, you will have the opportunity to aid our patients by escorting them throughout the hospital grounds. You will be helping the organization function well by transporting medical records, and materials to various stakeholders and departments in the hospital. Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED required
• No experience required
• Must have or obtain Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire
• Excellent positive communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Able to learn & use computers and printers
• Able to recognize and select correct course of action in all segments of transportation
• Clerical skills
• Basic math and reading skills

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher preferred
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• 1-2 years of patient care and/or customer service experience is preferred
• Experience or training responding to emergency situations highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed
• Transport patients safely with or without special equipment
• Maintain and change oxygen and gauges as needed
• Transport specimens, schedules, and other items with a reasonable turnaround time
• Stock, clean, and upkeep equipment needed for patient transport
