About The Position

Glens Falls Hospital is looking to help you jumpstart your next great career as a patient transporter for the hospital! The patient transport team is seeking energetic and motivated individuals like you who are comfortable pushing wheelchairs, escorting patients, and helping them board the appropriate medical transport vehicles! Serving as the point of contact for patient escort, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient satisfaction and quality care. If you are looking for an entry-level, patient facing role that highlights your customer service skills, this opportunity is for you! In this role, you will have the opportunity to aid our patients by escorting them throughout the hospital grounds. You will be helping the organization function well by transporting medical records, and materials to various stakeholders and departments in the hospital. Taken together, your work will have a profound impact on providing not only an excellent experience to our patients, but also to the various other team members throughout the organization!

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • No experience required
  • 1-2 years of patient care and/or customer service experience is preferred
  • Experience or training responding to emergency situations highly preferred
  • Must have or obtain Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire
  • Current CPR certification within 3 months after hire

  • Experience or training responding to emergency situations highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed
  • Transport patients safely with or without special equipment
  • Maintain and change oxygen and gauges as needed
  • Transport specimens, schedules, and other items with a reasonable turnaround time
  • Stock, clean, and upkeep equipment needed for patient transport
