About The Position

The Patient Support Technician performs routine assistive tasks to help the Registered Nurse meet basic patient needs, functioning as unlicensed assistive personnel. Requirements

  • Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course.
  • Candidates must successfully complete Prisma Health unit secretary course and training within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous nursing assistant, medical assistant or related experience preferred
  • One year hospital clerical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists patient with needs associated with personal hygiene.
  • Assists patients with needs related to nutrition and feeding.
  • Assists patients with needs related to ambulation.
  • Meets patients' needs related to elimination.
  • Accurately monitors inputs and outputs.
  • Completes and documents patient vital signs.
  • Reports abnormal values to the registered nurse.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
