About The Position

The DIALYSIS SUPPORT TECHNICIAN starts withassisting thePATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN with the deliverance and coordination of hemodialysis therapy, involving preparation of the patient, equipment, and supplies associated with such therapy, as well as all other relevant duties and those assigned by the Clinic Manager. This postion helps prepare you for becoming a Patient Care Technician. Once you are in this position, you will learnthe basics of the job and move into the Dialysis Technician training program. $14.00 per hour

Requirements

Must possess ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly and concisely as this position requires frequent contact with patients, physicians, and nursing staff
Must possess ability to meet physical demands of the position. These include, but are not limited to, constant sitting, standing, bending, lifting and moving. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
Minimum of high school diploma; additional vocational training or college courses preferred
Training will occur on the job; strong communications skills required

Responsibilities

Preparation of dialysis equipment for the performance of hemodialysis
Stock wipes, vinegar, bleach under counter/bicarb room
Preparation of bicarbonate for treatment
Empty trash, contaminated needle boxes and do the laundry
Empty biohazard
Keep treatment room stations stocked with adequate supplies for the days treatments
Clean and sanitize sinks, sink area and counters
Supply room: Put stock away, being sure that it is properly positioned, dated and rotated
Responds to patient needs: emergency situations, bedpans, and transportation
Maintain the confidentiality of all Practice information regarding patients, coworkers and physicians
