As a Patient Support Aide, you will be an integral part of the patient care team, providing essential assistance to enhance patient comfort, safety, and overall experience. This role involves assisting patients with non-clinical needs such as feeding, ambulation, personal care, and maintaining a clean and organized room. You will also be responsible for promptly responding to call lights, transporting patients, documenting basic observations, and communicating patient concerns or changes in condition to nursing staff, all while upholding patient dignity and confidentiality. Success in this role requires a compassionate, patient-centered approach, strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to follow instructions accurately, and a genuine desire to make a difference in patients' lives.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years One year of customer service work experience, upon hire
  • Healthcare-related experience, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with non-clinical needs such as feeding, ambulation, personal care, and maintaining a clean and organized room
  • Respond to call lights promptly
  • Transport patients as needed
  • Document basic observations
  • Communicate any patient concerns or changes in condition to the nursing staff
  • Uphold patient dignity and confidentiality
  • Registers and/or checks patients in/out
  • Handles and reconciles payments
  • Continually monitors and reconciles issues prior to patient visit
  • Processes referral orders and/or pre-authorizations
  • Responds to patient questions regarding routine billing and insurance matters
