Requirements

  • Clear verbal communication skills and basic writing and math abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients while enforcing policies and procedures fairly and respectfully.
  • Current Maryland driver’s license, CPR/AED certification, and NARCAN training.
  • Proven safe driving skills with the ability to operate vehicles in all weather and traffic conditions, assist passengers in and out of vehicles, and remain seated for extended periods.
  • Physical mobility to frequently walk, climb steps, and assist patients as needed during transport or escort activities.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport new admissions for intake, discharge, and scheduled trips as assigned.
  • Drive patients to and from outside appointments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Use GPS and safe driving practices to navigate effectively in all weather conditions and at varied times of day.
  • Complete daily pre-trip inspection logs and maintain accurate records of all transports.
  • Observe and report passenger behavior to appropriate clinical staff when necessary.
  • Keep all vehicles clean, properly maintained, and in excellent working condition.
  • Follow established procedures for reporting any accidents, incidents, or traffic violations.
  • Models and reinforces Ashley’s mission and core values
  • Performs other duties on an as-needed basis
  • Protects our patient’s personal health information by maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other relevant Ashley related IT security regulations
  • Reinforces Ashley’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
