About The Position

The Patient Status Coordinator is essential to the success of Patient Access operations, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of patient information and improving the overall customer experience. This role is responsible for validating and maintaining accurate demographic and insurance data, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, and playing a crucial role in denial avoidance by confirming insurance eligibility and patient status.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in patient access, insurance verification, or healthcare operations (preferably in a healthcare setting).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to decedent affairs guidelines and related processes to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of patient status protocols, insurance eligibility verification, and compliance requirements to ensure accurate outcomes.
  • Act as a liaison between the Patient Access Department and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate hospital processes, insurance policies, and patient-specific needs, as appropriate.
