Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) the Patient Sitter provides a high level of customer service and support to Carle patients by assuring patient safety at bedside and by distributing supplies throughout the department when there are no sitter needs. Responsibilities
- Sits with patient to assure safety.
- Provides calm and caring presence at bedside.
- Informs RN, HCT, or next available medical personnel of any emergent event or behavior change experienced by the patient.
- Constantly monitor patient visually to ensure patient does not fall or pull lines / tube or attempt to harm themselves.
- Stocks supplies throughout the department when there is not a sitter need.
