As a Patient Sitter at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living, you will work closely with the nursing and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the safety and emotional well-being of residents who require additional observation and support beyond routine care. Monitor resident behavior and symptoms; communicate concerns to nursing and care teams. Provide companionship and supportive presence to residents, especially those experiencing distress, disorientation, or isolation. Prevent falls and injuries by maintaining constant observation of residents at risk. Support residents exhibiting behaviors such as wandering, aggression, or inappropriate social interactions. Escort residents to appointments or activities, ensuring safety and comfort. Assist with meals by cutting food or offering finger foods—without feeding. Set up supplies for personal care routines without performing hands-on care. Maintain a tidy, calming environment; change bed linens when the bed is unoccupied. Establish therapeutic relationships with residents while respecting boundaries. Monitor multiple residents, if assigned, and remain vigilant at all times. Attend required in-service trainings and follow all safety and infection control protocols. Perform other duties as assigned.
