About The Position

Under the supervision of the Transportation Manager, the Paratransit Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of PACE participants. Including transport of paratransit (ambulatory and wheelchair-bound) participants, durable medical equipment, pharmacy and any other transportation as deemed necessary. Responsible for overall cleanliness and safety of the vehicle assigned on a daily basis. Responsible for communicating any safety issue(s) to the Transportation Manager.

Requirements

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Required License/Certification: NC Driver's License, BLS, First Aid
  • Required Experience: One year experience working with and/or transporting the frail and elderly.
  • Must be 25 years or older with an active NC Drivers License
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 15 days of employment start date
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • First Aid Basic, or EMS Safety, or (DL) Driver License must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred License: Class B CDL with P Endorsement
  • Preferred Experience: Bus driver for schools or at-risk populations.
