About The Position

The position is for a full-time role in the Rheumatology department at Atrium Health Concord, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:15 AM to 4:15 PM. The role involves providing exemplary customer service to create an excellent patient experience, managing patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and cash receipting. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate patient information and assisting with billing functions. The position requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Customer relations experience required.
  • Experience with Medical Records Software preferred.
  • Front desk practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience.
  • Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and interact with patients and families in sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in a hectic environment.
  • Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, and cash receipting according to standards and guidelines.
  • Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process.
  • Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information throughout patient encounters.
  • Assist with billing functions accurately and direct to the appropriate billing office.
  • Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
  • Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment.
