About The Position

The Patient Services Specialist at Atrium Health Albemarle Family Medicine is responsible for providing exemplary customer service and executing front office administrative duties. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring a world-class patient experience through effective communication and operational support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Customer relations experience required.
  • Experience with Medical Records Software preferred.
  • Front desk practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience.
  • Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and interact with patients and families in sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in a hectic environment.
  • Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, and cash receipting activities.
  • Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process.
  • Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information throughout the patient encounter.
  • Assist with billing functions and direct to the appropriate billing office as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in emergency codes and appropriate responses.
  • Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment.
