About The Position

The Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in coordinating and providing clerical and administrative support within a physician practice. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, ensuring a high standard of customer service to enhance the overall patient experience. The representative is responsible for various administrative tasks that support daily operations, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and compliance with detailed-oriented responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Proven proficiency of technology and EMR workflows at the conclusion of orientation.
  • Ability to handle cash and other payment methods accurately.
  • Ability to explain, educate, and support the usage of the LVHN patient portal.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of detail-oriented administrative tasks to anticipate the needs of team members and patients.
  • Gather information necessary for accurate registration and check-in.
  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and complete medical record release requests.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments while sustaining the execution and flow of the patient schedule.
  • Collaborate in training, staffing, and functionality while providing feedback.
  • Stay updated on changes in insurance providers regarding coverage and reimbursement.
  • Organize effectively to accommodate interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Perform scheduling, scanning, billing, filing, referrals, and other clerical functions in a timely manner.
  • Conduct appropriate patient outreach including telephone and EMR messaging.
