Incumbents are responsible for aspects of Physician Practice front office management and operation as assigned. This role may encompass some or all front office functions, including complete and accurate patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture, and coding diagnoses. Key responsibilities involve financial management such as posting payments, balancing reports, arranging patient pre-payments, processing unpaid accounts, and performing cashiering functions. The representative acts as a liaison between patients and medical support staff, greeting patients, verifying insurance, maintaining appointment books, and providing phone support. The position also includes extensive administrative tasks like gathering and coding outpatient charges, processing vouchers, managing mail, acquiring billing information, scheduling services, assembling and maintaining patient charts, overseeing the waiting area, and assisting patients with insurance claims and disability benefits. Additionally, the role involves collection actions, evaluating patient financial status, resolving billing complaints, and participating in educational activities. The individual is expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance and uphold office manual guidelines.
