About The Position

We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our Primary Care Group in the Potlatch Family Medicine Clinic. This role involves clerical and administrative tasks, patient registration, scheduling, and facilitating effective communication among healthcare providers, staff, patients, and external offices. This position requires strict adherence to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to exceptional customer service, aligning with our organizational values and goals.

Requirements

  • Experience working with computers.
  • Knowledge of basic office functions such as message-taking, cash drawer balancing, and data entry.
  • Exceptional customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to organizational values.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and exceed expectations for patients and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and multi-line phone systems.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing workflows and situations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with professionalism, embodying The Gritman Way values.
  • Monitor call queues and/or lobby wait times and address issues promptly.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  • Enter accurate and detailed notes in patient cases and phone logs.
  • Prepare daily deposit reconciliation paperwork.
  • Ensure accurate data input of insurance and patient information.
  • Schedule patient appointments appropriately.
  • Obtain and verify patient information for new and existing accounts.
  • Keep the reception area clean and organized.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and collect copays/outstanding balances.
  • Consistently demonstrate AIDET principles.
  • Register patients for the patient portal.
  • Perform opening and closing tasks for the office.
  • Prepare and organize paperwork for patient appointments.
  • Respond to basic face-to-face medical record requests.
  • Review and address patient concerns or complaints.
