This role is responsible for various aspects of front office management and operation within BMPG Psychiatry-Ellis Ave. The Patient Services Representative is expected to embody Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Key functions include complete and accurate patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture, and precise coding of physician-provided diagnoses. The position demands a high level of public contact and excellent interpersonal skills, involving tasks such as arranging patient pre-payments, enforcing financial agreements, handling billing processes, filing insurance claims, and assisting patients with insurance forms. The representative will also manage unpaid accounts, act as a liaison between patients and medical support staff, greet patients, verify insurance information, obtain necessary signatures, and assist patients with ambulatory difficulties. Other duties include maintaining appointment books, providing phone support, screening visitors, performing cashiering functions, preparing daily cash deposits, and managing patient accounts and inquiries. The role also involves scheduling services, assembling and maintaining patient charts, overseeing the waiting area, and processing various forms related to insurance, disability, and referrals. This is a non-management position that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Maintaining a neat and professional appearance, demonstrating commitment to service, and adhering to office manual guidelines are essential.
