About The Position

The Patient Service Representative is responsible for a variety of administrative functions and patient care activities in support of the clinic. This includes checking in and out patients, collecting co-pays, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, and assisting clinical staff to provide support for the efficient delivery of patient care. The role also involves opening and closing the office, ensuring the waiting area is always neat, answering phones including scheduling and following up on appointments, and entering patient demographics into the EMR. Additionally, the Patient Service Representative is responsible for collecting co-pays, prepayments, and any outstanding balances, as well as working the assigned ‘buckets’ in the EMR.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of medical office experience preferred
  • Customer Service skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Experience with Epic a plus
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong sense of discretion and professionalism
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
