About The Position

The Patient Services Representative II serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the medical facility. This role is intended for use by positions employed by an outpatient facility. Responsibilities include greeting and checking-in patients, verifying information, scheduling appointments, and updating Electronic Health Records (EHR). The representative facilitates intake procedures such as the completion of healthcare and insurance forms and collecting payments for services. The position requires gaining confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through competent job performance and effective communication. Adherence to all organizational, local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures is essential to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. The representative may also be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orienting other staff to the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
