About The Position
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for greeting patients and providing instructions to all visitors in a polite and professional manner. This role involves analyzing health insurance benefits, verifying insurance eligibility, and relaying relevant information regarding payment policies and billing/collection processes. The representative will maintain the readiness of the Piedmont Urgent Care reception area, perform clerical tasks, and adhere to established policies and procedures. Additionally, they will determine and collect each patient's financial responsibility, assist the practice manager and other staff as required, and provide overall support for physicians and office operations. Other duties include obtaining and documenting patient history, understanding and enforcing standard healthcare regulatory requirements, collecting and maintaining all patient and business documents while ensuring confidentiality, performing office procedures, documenting Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for all medical interventions, and assuring HIPAA and OSHA compliance. The role may also require travel to nearby Piedmont Urgent Care locations to support the staff.
