About The Position

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients within a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, and serving as a liaison between patients and medical staff to facilitate efficient communication and care delivery. The coordinator will utilize medical terminology and coding knowledge to accurately process patient information and support clinical operations, particularly in radiology departments. Proficiency with electronic health record systems, such as Epic Systems, is essential to maintain accurate patient records and streamline administrative workflows. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall quality of patient care by coordinating services that support timely access to medical treatment and clear communication throughout the patient journey.

Requirements

  • Education: High School graduate.
  • Experience: One year of experience in homecare (e.g., home health or hospice) is preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all segments of the staff. Good interpersonal skills.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid and current auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Complete workflow tasks and other assignments to the PSC Responsible Position in the Agency’s electronic medical record.
  • Prioritizes the scheduling of new patient admissions in coordination with the Admin or CM-- RN.
  • Participates in coordinating care with nurses, patients, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provides effective communication to patients, staff members, other health care professionals and referral sources.
  • Respond to Agency and patient needs professionally and creatively.
  • Demonstrates commitment, professional growth, and competency.
  • Participates in Agency-sponsored in-service training.
  • Participates in the Agency’s QAPI program, as directed.
  • Promotes the Agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
  • Cross-trains as the Medical Records Specialist (MRS) as needed.
