Tennessee Oncology, one of the nation's largest community-based cancer care specialists, is seeking a dedicated Patient Services Coordinator to join our team in Tullahoma, TN. Established in 1976, our mission is to provide access to high-quality cancer care and the expertise of clinical research for all patients, conveniently located within their communities. As a Patient Services Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our oncologists and the patients we serve by providing comprehensive medical office support, including registration and scheduling functions. In this position, you will manage the reception of patients both in-person and over the phone, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. You will be responsible for obtaining patient insurance and demographic information, collecting co-pays, and scheduling appointments. Additionally, you will monitor and distribute inbound and outbound documentation, whether in electronic or paper format, ensuring that all processes adhere to the policies and procedures outlined by management. Your essential functions will include answering telephones, greeting patients courteously, conducting patient check-ins and check-outs, and properly tracking patients in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. You will also be responsible for obtaining pre-patient registration information and ensuring that eligible patients undergo proper distress screening. As a preceptor to newly hired staff, you will help train and guide them in their roles. You will also handle various tasks related to governmental, insurance, and quality initiative programs, ensuring that patients receive the necessary communication and support regarding their care. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all Tennessee Oncology policies and procedures.
