The Franklin County CarePlex in Louisburg offers a unique opportunity to practice in a close-knit, community-focused environment while remaining within commuting distance of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. This vital front-desk role involves being the first point of contact for patients, setting the tone for a positive, patient-centered experience while supporting clinical operations through accurate registration, scheduling, and administrative coordination. Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Patient Services Associate provides high-quality, face-to-face customer service to patients and team members, ensures accurate patient registration, manages front desk workflows, and supports medical records and referral processes—all while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1–2 years of experience in a receptionist, front desk, or customer service role
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • A patient-first mindset and commitment to service excellence.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare, dental, or medical office setting.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (EPIC experience a plus).
  • Experience working in a non-profit or community health environment.
  • Proven ability to multitask while delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and check in patients in a professional, friendly, and timely manner.
  • Accurately collect, verify, and enter patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments as needed.
  • Collect payments and post transactions in accordance with cash management procedures.
  • Balance and reconcile daily cash drawer; prepare deposits when required.
  • Maintain organized and accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for inquiries from patients and external partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Support a team-based approach to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
