About The Position

New England Dermatology & Laser Center has been providing dermatology care to the greater Springfield community for over 70 years. We're looking for an experienced Patient Services Associate with a conscientious work ethic to join our busy specialty practice. Heavy patient interaction in-person and over the phone. Primary duties include facilitating a positive patient office experience and supporting clinical teams, ensuring that patient information is up to date, updating the database to be current, checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments within established guidelines, documenting medical questions for disposition by MD or PA, balancing daily receipts, miscellaneous clerical duties and other related tasks.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years customer service experience, medical office experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, good judgment & follow-through.
  • Professional, courteous, patient, team player who works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Verbal & written communication skills, able to multi-task and perform mathematical calculations and make change.
  • Proficiency with practice management, electronic health record and Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Overtime and scheduling flexibility may be required to accommodate operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or medical secretarial certification, billing coding certification or medical assistant certification preferred.
